Bolton Field Master Plan

Bolton Field Airport serves as a critical general aviation link in a three-airport system operated by the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. Built in 1970 to free Port Columbus for expanded commercial operations, Bolton Field accommodates much of Central Ohio’s general aviation needs.

To ensure that Bolton Field continues to effectively fulfill its role as a reliever airport and continues keeping pace with emerging general aviation trends, an airport Master Plan was reviewed and updated by Airport Authority leaders with input and assistance from a Technical Advisory Panel comprised of FAA representatives, city, township and county officials and other local stakeholders from the Columbus area. The public also provided input.

Bolton Field’s growth and development is being guided by this plan in accordance with the surrounding community and its general aviation requirements.
